Cognition, a visual imaging studio, media laboratory and creative campus was founded by writer/director Brian Pope. The studio's mandate is to empower filmmakers and other creative parties by providing them with the resources, artistic space and collaborators they need to produce great work.

In Digital Intermediate services, we are redefining the process of finishing motion picture and television projects. Employing the most advanced technology and workflows, we offer individualized, integrated solutions for dailies processing, color grading, editorial finishing and deliverables. In Visual Effects, we offer scalable solutions for design, management and execution of breathtaking vfx that place a premium on creative freedom. In Cognition X, we are exploring the limits of exciting new imaging and information technologies such as photogrammetry, LIDAR scanning, augmented and virtual reality.

Our facility in Hollywood is currently undergoing a multi-million dollar expansion. When completed, the 15,800 square foot space will provide an unprecedented working environment for film and television production, designed from the ground up to support the production methodologies of today and tomorrow. The facility will include two 4K digital theaters, a broadcast color suite, visual effects production hub, a shooting stage and production offices.
