Convergent Design announces the Gemini 4:4:4 Trade Up Program to benefit our clients who have purchased the popular Gemini 4:4:4 monitor/recorder.
Introduced in 2011, the Gemini 4:4:4 was the first on-camera uncompressed video recorder to also feature a high quality monitor.　Initially enabled with uncompressed HD recording to DPX files, the functionality of the Gemini 4:4:4 expanded with optional record modes for ARRIRAW and Canon RAW.　The Gemini 4:4:4 recorded these signals to 1.8” SSDs.
In 2013, Convergent Design announced the successor to the Gemini 4:4:4, the Odyssey7Q.　This new recorder offers a larger, higher resolution OLED display, along with a complete array of image analysis tools, making it the most advanced on-camera monitor in the industry.　Odyssey7Q more than doubled the capture capability, recording ARRIRAW, Canon RAW, and Sony FS700 RAW to a pair of 2.5” SSDs. The higher performance Odyssey7Q supports the capture of most raw formats onto a single SSD and all formats onto a single recorder.　Odyssey7Q also offers a unique Multi-Stream mode for viewing and future recording option of up to four HD signals simultaneously.
With the numerous advances from the Gemini 4:4:4 to the Odyssey7Q, Convergent Design did not want to leave behind our clients who had made significant investments in our earlier technology.　So we are today introducing the Gemini 4:4:4 Trade Up Program, which is available to all current Gemini 4:4:4 owners.
